Midnight Sunrise
Midnight Sunrise

Midnight sunrise is a film covering many aspects of the Cambodian culture seen through the eyes of three young men who traveled throughout the country on dirt bike. The film opens up with a brief introduction of the three men, a teacher, a photographer, and a student.
Then it quickly goes into the horrific history of Cambodia, beginning in the 1970s during the Vietnam war. Then it takes you ahead to the Cambodia today where the three men who are there traveling link up with a dirt bike tour, which takes the group into the poverty ridden countryside. As they travel through the jungle and villages they witness the real wounds of years of war, as well as magnificent temples left from an the ancient lost kingdom of the Khmer Empire. The film outlines many of the problems of modern day Cambodia as they become evident to this group of travelers. Landmines, poverty, forest fires, economic issues, politics and the Cambodian people themselves are all subjects covered only because they were clearly evident when traveling through the remote parts of the country.
