Based on bestselling authors Dan Burstein's and Arne De Keijzer's nonfiction book; "Secrets of Mary Magdalene", this documentary special uncovers the latest information on one of the world's most controversial religious figures. Mary Magdalene-- a sinner and prostitute, or the secret wife of Jesus and leader of his church? From her role in ancient Christianity and her place of importance among the Christians of medieval France, to the twentieth-century discovery of ancient texts shedding new light on this mysterious woman, "Secrets of Mary Magdalene", is a revealing look at the apostle of apostles. "Secrets of Mary Magdalene," directed by award winning filmmaker Rob Fruchtman and narrated by Marisa Berenson, was shot on Hi-Definition and features many of the leading experts in the study of Mary Magdalene including Susan Haskins, author of Mary Magdalen; Myth and Metaphor, Elaine Pagels, author of The Gnostic Gospels, and Deirdre Good author of Mariam, The Magdalen, and The Mother. The film was produced by Hidden Treasures Productions, Inc and Stuart B. Rekant served as Executive Producer.
